Will there ever be a time, in beta or live when we can CHOOSE how much we want to forage or mine? Sometimes I only want one or two units, but I'm forced to take whatever I get. _________________ All explorers are seeking something they have lost. Hadn't planned on it -- but I hadn't planned on it being desired either. You can seperate units from a stack of an item though. _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato

Just remember to spell SEPARATE correctly so you don't get frustrated by it not working. _________________ Help! Help! I'm being oppressed! |

Actually, either works.
>sepErate
Usage: SEPARATE <amount> FROM <object>
ex: SEPARATE 5 FROM SLICES to separate 5 slices from a stack of sliced londrum.
>sepArate
Usage: SEPARATE <amount> FROM <object>

I always misspell that word, hence both work. I imagine it's a common typo. _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato

I can't make it work for branches. |

Branches (and similar pieces of wood) cannot be combined or separated. I've changed the foraging messaging so that it does not note units found, since that really does not apply to woods. _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato

Howdy all!
This was in Daylight also.
I did a little testing today with foraging. Here are the results:
And I know only 300 units isn't enough to test, but I was curious.
2 full bundles of 50, stasis flower. With no campfire, and no boost in perception.
Ecology is 252
Perception is 95
The average was: 1st bundle: 2.98 units per forage
2nd bundle: 3.85 units per forage
average of the two bundles 3.41
I can't light a fire where stasis is, so I tested ivy, where I can light a campfire.
2 full bundles of 50, sirolei ivy, with a campfire and a perception potion.
Ecology is 273
Perception is 107
The average was: 1st bundle: 2.50 units per forage
2nd bundle: 4.16 units per forage
average of the two bundles 3.33
2 full bundles of 50, sirolei ivy, without a campfire, or perception bonus.
Ecology is 252
Perception 95
The average was: 1st bundle: 3.33 units per forage
2nd bundle: 3.23 units per forage
average of the two bundles 3.28
And I missed 8 times out of 88 forage tries.. The missing looks fine to me. It's the less than 4 units per forage that I think might be a little off.
Am I not training in something I should be as a Tracker? I'm a little confused as to why that I went from 14 units as my max, down to 7. Which I only got 6 times out of 88 forages. And I don't understand why I don't forage better when I have more perception and more ecology. I'm just confuzzled on this!
AND also, I noticed that everything plant related, I only get 1 unit every time I start foraging it. The foraged gems are fine, they give more than 1 unit.
P.S. I am not one for numbers at all, but this really piqued my interest. I did the best I could. _________________ All explorers are seeking something they have lost. It is seldom they find it, and more seldom still that the attainment brings them greater happiness than the quest. |
