|
|
Okay, so I was watching the history channel (also known as the "look at all the wars" channel), and they started talking about combat fatigue on one of the shows. They start talking about how even the most hardened soldier suffers from it...which could be an exaggeration for their show...I don't know, but still.
So here I am...reading the forums, looking at all the professions making cool suggestions for things to do...some seem pretty out there to me, so I sit here thinking, "What can medics do?" and I really almost couldn't think of anything because we're medics....we heal people. But then I remembered that....and here's my idea.
A tracker tracks how much time you've been fighting, the average difficulty of those fights, and maybe how many wounds you've taken during them. This results in combat fatigue...where the number goes up, bad stuff starts to happen. I'm not really sure what, maybe shaky hands...lowered coordination, reliving stuff - temporary stuns; Stuff like that.
But then you introduce a new skill...psychology, and a medic can go about treating them in various ways. I'm sure there could be other uses for psychology too, in a general, "not-necessarily medic" way. Ya. _________________

Very interesting concept, Brenton!
I am a history channel addict. But I haven't watched it as much lately. But yeah, it's really war-heavy, especially WWII. _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato

Some very interesting ideas! Keep them coming!
Back when I lived in the US, I used to watch the history channel and discovery a lot, unfortunately all I get now is AFN Pacific and a few Japanese stations. _________________ Counselor Faith Tempest

Japanese TV is awesome. I'd watch it just for the commercials.
P.S. Where are you? |
