This experiment was to see what tailored goods gave the best return.

a velvety black xarloa bracelet $55 $55 $55
a velvety black xarloa anklet $52 $55 $55
a velvety black xarloa headband $84 $99 $93
a velvety black xarloa tie $146 $140 $140
a velvety black xarloa belt $55 $55 $55
a velvety black xarloa hat $133 $133 $124
a velvety black xarloa scarf $127 $133 $121
some velvety black xarloa stockings $168 $165 $165

Mind you, everything used a swatch of velvety black xarloa except the last one.

Facts that may influence prices (because I don't know)
Race: Alteri
Class: Artisan
Level: 8
Charisma: 6
Coordination: 22
Intellect: 15
Mentallity: 15
Perception: 20

What does the data show? So far, the most profitable thing to create is a tie. Now, to see if different materials do a better job at giving a better price/if the item you ATTACH matters (ie: is it better to add ribbons than spikes, etc).

edit: If you notice, I didn't include bags and containers on the list of experimented goods. This is because I can't sell them to Lrenen Nhot, the tailor in the Darjuan Quarter.

Hrm.. I never even thought to see if you could sell there. <g>

Have you compared prices at the hut where skins are sold in the Darju sector? I haven't made a list, but it's been my experience that the more skill it takes to tailor the item, the more the returns.

Charisma can affect the amount you sell something for, but not the item's value.

Okay, I did an experiment on this as well.

I used Gragrok hides, two bundles each of five. Each bundle would sell on its own for $543.

For the first bundle I tailored the first item you can make; bracelets. This yielded an increase of $695 more than the unimproved pelts alone.

I made the second bundle into scroll cases; the highest tailorable item that only uses one pelt. This yielded a profit increase from the unimproved pelts of $1491.

These were sold to Kafgi Kirilu at the hut. I checked the price on one item with Llren and there was no difference. She wouldn't accept the scroll cases either being containers. I have no idea why you're getting more for the ties than the belts... I'll check that next.

Edit:

Okay, checked it. I think you've found a bug Shocked here with the pricings.

Avg. Profit Increase/Gragrok Pelt:

Bracelet-------$139

*Ties-----------$1047

Scroll Cases---$298

Someone must really like formal wear. ;]

No. People just love ties. Ties are FABULOUS DAMNIT.

And can you only sell tailored goods made from skinned stuff to the um.. skinner? And he doesnt' take containers either, right?

Kafgi will take any tailored item, including containers.

And as a sidenote: Damn I wish I could see material to profit increases of $500+.

I'm happy getting a profit of $100!

I have fixud the values of the newest ten or so items in the list including ties, headbands, etc. In some cases the value plunged and in some cases it dramatically rose. You should generally notice values much more balanced to the skill required to tailor that item.

Actually what I'd really love to see is a different kind of menu in the shop in Chodaku.

This is what we have now:

1. A small swatch of textured black karbora $25
2. A small swatch of textured red karbora $25
3. A small swatch of textured grey karbora $25
4. A small swatch of soft pink ososha $30
5. A small swatch of soft yellow ososha $30
6. A small swatch of soft purple ososha $30
7. A small swatch of velvety white xarloa $40
8. A small swatch of velvety black xarloa $40
9. A small swatch of velvety red xarloa $40
10. A small swatch of sheer silver esilan $50
11. A small swatch of sheer gold esilan $50
12. A small swatch of sheer bronze esilan $50
13. A small swatch of pale blue lumis silk $55
14. A small swatch of pale green lumis silk $55
15. A small swatch of pale brown lumis silk $55

A very very limited amount of colors. Lumis has only pale blue, green and brown, and there is no other material that is those colors. All the menus are like that, the sheets and all. What I'd really love to see is a menu that has the five (or more) types of fabric, then you pick that fabric and then customize or die it the color you want of all the colors available. I know that if I really want a blue backpack, and I'm a Darju, I'm rudely going to go for the only blue fabric there is that matches what I want, and that's lumis silk. So then I'll have Anifaust on me for wearing blue lumis silk and insulting Eolai.

Also, I learned today that the tie, a "traditional" father's day present, is also the most hated father's day present, per a nation-wide poll.

But you were smart enough to be Eolai, because we are after all, the superior race! Very Happy So you can wear all the Lumis you want, Inaira.

I do however agree that each fabric should come as a blank piece, and you dye it to the color of your chosing. That would be a pretty neat addition to the already awsome crafting system.
