Prince Aegan Z'dan has recently announced that he'd love to travel the world on an Airship. After speaking with his advisors, he's decided to begin construction of a facility to construct just such a ship. Until the facility is completed he'll be taking suggestions on a name for his airship, as well as advice on what it should look like. Sound fun? Want to know how you can help out? Just post your suggestions for names here!!

Want to submit some design suggestions? Post! We'll take anything from room descriptions to fabric designs. Keep in mind that a submission doesn't guarantee anything. Aegan will have to look everything over and see what he likes, what is possible, and what materials might be available....

No, the airship won't require the citizens of Llanfair to contribute towards it. It will be constructed. It won't have a set destination that it travels to and back from however, it'll go wherever the prince requires it to go.

[Llanfair, Royal Hanger]
Rippled metal forms the covering of this immense hanger. Dozens of shelves and pegboards along the walls contain various tools for constructing and maintaining a flying vessel. Scraps of raw material are strewn over the floor. Air conditioning hums noisily, keeping the interior pleasantly cool. Far overhead, several long lights provide illumination. A small door at the rear leads into another room, its contents a mystery. You also see a sleek airship trimmed in black and gold.

>look airship
All curvy grace, this large vehicle appears to be designed with both comfort and elegance in mind. Oddly enough, there is no apparent means of entrance. Nor is there any obvious means of propulsion.

That's all you get, for now. My head hurts.

[Aboard The Flag Ship Aersulae, The Brig]

This room looks like no prison you've ever seen before. It is a large, empty room with a single door leading in, but with a blank face on this side, so that one cannot escape. There is a small window in the door. You notice a long crack in the floor that runs from one side of the room to the other. You can feel a stream of air coming through the crack.

(The door to this room will be locked, so that nobody accidently goes in and is executed...) You can see what the room is by looking in the window, or peering in the mirror in the control room

[Aboard The Flag Ship Aersulae, Prison Control Room]

This is a small, mostly empty room. The only objects in the room are a small mirror, a lever, and a large sign above the lever.

PEER MIRROR: Let's you see what's going on in the Brig.

READ SIGN: This lever controls the drop floor in the Brig. WARNING: If you pull this lever, any occupants of the brig WILL plummet to their death.

PULL LEVER: drops floor out in the Brig, may be seen by peering into the mirror.

And SoulTorn, the ship should probably be trimmed in crimson, since that's the royal family's color.

I wouldn't think the airship would need prison/brig facilities. The only people that are going to ride in it are probably going to be Aegan and a handfull of his most trusted friends.

Since I agree that the ship should be named after the late queen Ill include the name in my description. . .

[Aboard The Flag Ship Aersulae, The Bridge]

Control panels dominate the front side of this room, each stationed by airship personnel making sure everything is in order. In the center of the room sits a sleek high-backed chair trimmed in red velvet and a pair of slide screen doors lead back into the main hallway of the ship.

I think the bridge should have a longer look but this is just a small idea . . can add more. . .Im not really good at coming up with room descriptions. . .

What if a miscreant gang of thugs decide to hijack the vessel in midair? of course you need a brig, you need a brig on any ship.

On private yachts, I do not recall "You own personal brig!" as a key feature (and I had to research them for my Sociology class not too long ago). I can only assume that Aegan's airship is for his -- and his staff's -- own use, perhaps with the intent to open it to the elite members of society later.

As far as my own suggestions..

Name: The White Light
Style: Blimp-esque, but better
Envelope Materials: Technologically advanced fabrics enhance UV protection of the envelope, which carries the structural load and acts as the gas barrier.
Illumination: Features a special internal illumination system comprising of 2", 1000 watt bulbs allowing the airship envelope to "glow" during nighttime operations.
Envelope Design: On both sides would be the royal seal, with "The White Light" written just below and sorta off to the side of that.
Cabin Length: 17.6 feet
Cabin Height: 9.6 feet
Width: 10 feet
Passenger Capacity: Six adults (or roughly 10 children) plus pilot
Camera Capabilities: Gyro-stabilized camera mounting capabilities, providing an excellent platform for television broadcasts (since there will be a satellite uplink.. thing), video recording, or picture taking.
Endurance: At least 20 hours of constant cruising; varies with weather conditions.
Top Speed: Roughly 35 mph
Power Source: Four 80-horsepower Limbach engines; capability to get solar powered upgrades (which would be better, but I can't logically think of where to put them without endangering the helium).
Fuel Capacity: 85 gallons (assuming gasoline is used on Haelrahv, haha)
Fuel Consumption: About 4 gallons per hour; varies with weather conditions
Maximum Rate of Climb: 1,500 feet per minute
Operating Area Diameter: 1000 feet

Uh. I can write some room descriptions if need-be. Think there would probably be about four -- cockpit, restroom, main-room, and a viewing port (maybe two of these, one for each side) -- since it would be such a confined space.

I feel sorry for the people on your ship when you get jacked by pirates.
