Any chance royal guards could get their skills kicked up a bit? Seeing the defenders of Llanfair get their asses handed to them by everyone and their mother (literally; I think HR is so inbred now that one person is technically everyone's mother) is just depressing.
This is of course contingent on said guards no longer trying to summarily execute certain individuals on sight.

Back to the guards issue: This kind of thing scares me, because DR had a tweaking fettish that seemed out of control. I swear, I fought (and learned quite well from) swamp trolls for over seven circles (something like 9th - 16th) because of all their tweaks.
However, I do agree that the Llanfair guards are ridiculously weak (for their position). Maybe change the name to Royal Guard Trainees or something like that, keep their level the same, and then make some badass real guards somewhere else... maybe closer to the castle or something. |

Guards were never intended to be a regular huntable critter. Any tweaks they might have in the future should be considered a bit different than tweaking other huntables.

Well if you make them high enought htat people can't hunt them, then at least make them less fidgety... it gets a but annoying.

The guards really do need to do a bit more damage. I just saw a Level 2 Psionic kill one with nothing more than a gridgun and Icy Aura. And they're supposed to protect the queen from someone like Neifl?

Yeah, one of the staffers playing vital characters has been especially busy IRL making it difficult to coordinate and do, but it's still in the works to continue the story line.

I will be working on toughening up the guards to about level 50. They will receive new abilities in addition to improved stats. Currently they no longer attack anyone blindly who was on that old hate list. However, in the future (not yet implemented) they will add anyone who attacks a guard to a wanted list where that person will remain for a period of time and attacking a guard will refresh your listing, effectively keeping you on the list.

The following changes have been made to the royal guards:
* Guards will no longer refer to it as daytime during night and they will no longer chat idly while engaged in combat.
* All skills are at 100. Stats have been increased, as well as health, stamina and focus points. Resistances have also been adjusted, as have general payouts and box ratings and stuff like that.
* Their weapons are now of "excellent" quality (previously they were ordinary quality).
* All guards now carry vyeftium shields of "excellent" quality.
* All guards are stanced to block instead of parry.
* Guards have gained shield bash and double slash.
* Guards have been granted blood siphon and siphon vigor. And lucky them, they have no prep time (Har).
