This isn't DR. It shouldn't really hinder people when they get their wounds healed by a medic since you don't need to mindlessly tend to learn skill. But consent should be required for things like scalpels that could do damage to you if medic using it is incompetent. "Well I'll just make an incision here... Oops... You didn't need that spleen, did you?"

I voted for everything, so that you can put back the dermagel in the eye and the dermagel in bleeding wounds. It adds to its depth if you could end up screwing up someones wound by accident, you have to place trust in your medic =). Plus I realize some of the more RP-oriented people really don't like it when you just wander up and start healing them. So I think consent for everytime is needed.

I voted for everything.. There may be times when someone just doesn't want to be touched or helped for whatever reason, maybe phobia, maybe racial hatred, whatever. It shouldn't be too much trouble to ask "Do you need/want a little help?".

If I were playing someone that despised Eolai, for example, and one came up to me and started rubbing stuff all over me, I'd likely shoot 'em right in the face.

It's a sticky situation though.. if I see someone who looks to be in bad shape, I'm gonna help first and ask questions later, and I don't want medics (or anyone, for that matter) to be afraid to reach out to someone who may be in desperate need (where seconds can make the difference) for fear of retaliation.

I don't want it to be "open season" on someone who is trying to be of service, but at the same time I don't think you should have the "right" (however admirable the intention) to heal anyone you please, *especially* with dangerous instruments.

I think healers should face the risk, but a little courtesy (from both parties) should avoid most, if not all, conflict Cool

Its sooooo close!

Here's how its probably going to work based on the poll results so far.

Consent will definately be required for such things as scalpels in which abuse is a possibility.

Basic healing wont require consent, but it wont let you "screw up" unless you have it. So you *can* stick dermagel into someone elses eyes if they let you do it.

Any, and I am deadly serious about this...ANY ABUSE of this will result in that person's immediate dismissal from the Medic guild, and possibly more.

How about just an avoid or set (or something similar, I like demeanor myself..) so if we don't want to get healed, we won't.

Because you might forget to turn it off after being healed. Bye the way, how long would the consent last? Would the medic decide while asking for consent? Or would the person do CONSENT BRENTON 10, for, giving me consent for 10 minutes.

chances are it would last approximately a half hour or until the medic or patient terminated it.

and the reason i dont want to do it as a flag, is because this isnt just a matter of wanting to get healed, its a matter of giving someone permission to do certain things to you.

scalpels do not take any form of resistance into effect, therefore you are basically puting a very powerful weapon into a medic's hands. And I know that someone, somewhere down the line will abuse that.

Also, Treat incorporates medic billing. Allowing medics to setup rates for service and charge customers for procedures if they desire.

P.S. Between you and me, I don't like flags. It limits RP in my opinion. but I will consider this one

*grins* alright Consent will now be required for everything.

Now mind this, because when all you out there who are on the verge of death and run into your medics office and cry Heal me and die before you can give consent, dont come complaining to me.

Wink
