Funny you mention that.. the repairs system for cyberware is close to release Wink

Anyone will be able to repair cyberware, but trust me when I say that the techs will be FAR better at it than anyone else. You'll know when you find out the details.

In a nutshell, repair prices are going to be jacked up significantly very soon and your skills will suddenly become very valuable, especially if you have some specific tools to go with that... hint hint

Huh? Weren't repair prices already insanely high on cyberware? To repost what Downtweak posted elsewhere:
Quote:
Shavcire Wei takes $1909 from you then fiddles with your right cyber hand adding a few parts. Within moments it's good as new!

Which was the result of like 2 or 3 bumps to the hand, even with armor on.

Zoz, would you mind terribly if I built an altar to you and performed daily sacrifices of annoying Performers?

That was the OLD system for repair. Since then it's been tweaked so that something completely broken (and don't quote me on this, it's just a guess) costs somewhere between 3k-4k to repair.

Once the new repair system is completely implemented, prices being "jacked up" refers to them going back to something like the old system.

Think of it like cars.. if a car's engine breaks down, the repair costs start becoming comparable to the value of the car itself. If you are a mechanic yourself or know a few mechanics, it is much cheaper to buy the needed parts and install them yourself. Might take longer, but it saves tenfold money.

Consider it forced socialization Wink

Just to reassure you.. with a not-too-expensive toolkit, you can theoretically keep a piece of equipment at pristine condition at all time for infinitely long. So long as the damage never exceeds your skills. And no matter your skills, once the damage passes a certain point, you'll have to buy additional parts for repair. These are very cheap especially compared to old repair costs.

Could toolkits be made belt-wearable or have some sort of shoulder strap to make it just worn?

The electronics repair kit ONLY has been made belt-wearable, and is now a container in case you wish to store the other perishable kits inside.

Uhm... Agh?

>glance gabriel
You glance at your hands.
You are holding an electronics repair toolkit in your right hand and nothing in the left.
>wear toolkit
You can't wear that.

Dear Mr. Zoz. Since you're apparently in a flurry of activity, could you add some skill checks to installation of upgrades? Earlier this evening someone (who shalt remain nameless) asked if any technicians were available to install an upgrade. I replied that I could for $100. I have to make a living somehow, yanno. This person never replied, but instead logged on and off in succession with another character repeatedly whom I assumed was a technician mule, since they didn't ask again. Three seperate log ins/outs can't be a coincidence.

I'm well aware of that, I watched all of it myself.

It has been changed so only techs can do it as of a short while ago, and skill checks will be on their way very soon.
