hamstring and... hamstringing

so i'm able to use hamstring and "completely destroy" a leg/foot like there's no tomorrow, but actually getting the "you hamstringed it! it falls over ouch!" message is really rare for me.

am i doing something wrong? i can't imagine having to do more damage tha what it takes to completely remove a leg.

I noticed this before, back before I even started using etars and when I was using daggers from underground. I barely ever got the behind the knee/achilles tendon messaging. When I decided to test with a katana, and then vibro sabres, and now my etars, I get the messaging 9 times out of 10.

I said this before and I'll say it again...But it seems like there's a damage requirement to get the best effects of hamstring, and this requirement can only be surpassed with a) heavy swords, b) alot of strength. I think back when I was messing around, I noticed only weapons with good slashing quality and up would trigger the messaging and such.
