i have no idea how hard it would be to code (translation: probably too hard to be worth it), but can the way pelts are dyed for tailoring (scored/dyed) somehow work with armor crafting?

Point of confusion here... do you mean new jars of dyes, or dye colors added to Collin Dautrich's list? Because skins dyed by Collin already ARE able to be used in armorcrafting; it's been like that since he was set up.
