I would really be appreciative if a modification to retreat and advance would be considered. I'm running into some really annoying problems when hunting using exotic and pole weapons. Or if I'm doing something stupid and there actually IS a better way to do this, I'd love it if someone let me know.

I advance on a critter, then have to type 'retreat' when I get to the range I want. That's not so bad on its own, but then if the critter manages to advance me while I'm using hangback, I have to do another retreat then advance, making sure I time it right. It's frustrating, especially when I know that it's as simple as advance/attack or aim/fire with other weapons.

My proposition is to add a modifier to retreat and advance, so that it wouldl be possible to attempt to advance or retreat to a certain range. It might take a skill-check to succeed or something, and maybe even a RT for a failed attempt..but at least it would be there.

Sorry for bitching and thanks for listening. Very Happy

Try using HANGBACK POLE? You'll still need to retreat once if you engage it first, but beyond that you'll attempt to keep it at pole range.

i sometimes use hangback missile for yaru, and i noticed that if something reaches melee with me (or pilum, or pole, etc), yaru sorta just gives up trying to retreat and i have to jump start him by entering retreat myself.
