Code:

[Castle Z'dan, Light Shrine]
Pure light emanates from a glowing sphere in the center of this room. White marble without any blemishes stretches around the floor, walls, and makes a domed ceiling near which the glowing sphere floats. The light is almost tangible in its inviting warmth. The entrance to the hall is marked by a dark rectangle of light.

You also see a glowing sphere, an open archway and a ragged parchment.
You see no obvious exits here.

>read parch

It reads:

Dear Lightdwellers,

As you have no doubt noticed, I have reclaimed my property.
This is your one and only warning. Do NOT interfere again.
You cannot stop us. You cannot stop our Mistress.

>get parch

>You can't get that.

agreed, but i'm also hoping that the people who are supporting the people out to be 'evil' are actually punished somehow. not in a "make their roleplay choices miserable" way, but the idea that, once the event ends, everything is okey-dokey makes me twitch a bit. i just really can't process how some people are so apathetic and "yeah well no big deal!" about things, ICly. ah well.

that said, i think yaru now needs to start calling himself a Lightdweller of Oshib. Makes his sun pendant all that more fun. Very Happy

Agree...I'm actually hoping people will chastize Seth and shun him from society...

I know it's a foolish design from the stand point of I also run a company which relies on player-base interaction...But it's all for the RP...which is frikkin awesome.

Nope...But given my past...I can supply them with enough reason they should oust and enemetize (not to be confused with enematization) me (captain!).

from a feedback point of view, i'm wondering if the corrupted paladins are meant to do anything more than cause people to flee a room until it moves elsewhere.

can players impose a multi penalty on critters? do we have to be joined or just in combat with it?

i love a challenge, but i'm wondering if we're even meant to try and hit those guys.

if anything, can the paladins be given a slower advance speed? they hit melee almost instantly and are pretty impossible to flee from. i'm 100% cool with the big brute enemy that we're all meant to fear, but right now he's just super fast, near-impossible to escape from, and pretty much unbeatable, at least by those taking part in things.

It's intended to kill you all, rather than make you run...but baby steps. Wink

He's my(current) answer to big players swarming the little stuff under.

I'll also say, there might be another creature on the way. Think paladin but ranged.(Cuz I'm an ebil bastage)

Confession: I'm surprised Yaru can't hit it. I just might fiddle with it some next chance I get.

Considering a speed adjustment, but honestly I've seen quite a few people get away just fine(If a bit beat on). Has anyone actually paying attention had issues getting away from him?

Also being pondered is a way to keep them all from pounding poor Seth.

Stay tuned!

i generally have 325 marksmanship and 185 mental/195 coord. i'm really surprised i can't hit it, either.

that said, i can sometimes hit it when casting gust, which baffles me since i only have 250 psionics.

really it's generally just luck. most of the time i retreat to pole, and it gets right back to melee and hits me again. i have to be lucky enough to retreat and time a flee right so i can hit pilum range.

Players joined in a group can impose a multi penalty on any creature with sufficient numbers. This doesn't mean they necessarily can kill anything with enough people, that depends on the stats of the creature.

don't be discouraged. the majority of the time there aren't attacks going on, and noone, of any level, has never had to go "oh shit!" and run like hell. there is still a secret base to discover (i think), and that may not involve fighting at all.

Considering how helpful people were when I asked about the kidnappings, I left it to those better suited to police work. I enjoy a good mystery, and I am happy to see such events going on, I just chose to step aside rather than deal with it. I was in the middle of fund raising at the time, not to mention RL chaos. I do hope it works well for those involved.

As for the 'nobody needing to run', I see it differently. I can account for no less than four people who ran, and a few more who didn't and nearly died. Yes, I realize the whole death argument. That's fine. But as I've learned in many years of gaming, one rule applies:

Just because you can't or won't hit them, doesn't mean they can't or won't hit you.

If anyone needs shelter, let me know. There is plenty of supplies stocked away for a rainy (or violent) day.

heck, get involved now!

i worded that poorly. i said noone has never had to run, which could have been better-phrased as "everyone has run at one point or another, even players who are technically level 130+"

tlere and rkaren were about last night from 12am-3am EST, but nothing was super-active about them (which clearly means they were plotting and out to get us all in secrecy).

tried tracking rkaren, but could only see his tracks and would get the "Track who? Did you remember to scout first?" message when trying to actually follow his specific tracks. after a bit couldn't even spot where rkaren and tlere were (but no idea if they were around or if they just tricked me and gave me the slip or what).

anyway, people at Cloud Court got a vision, which was the big thing of last night:
Code:
The shadows thicken and the surrounding lights appears to dim as the ghostly figures of several Alteri march through the area.  Their eyes gaze blankly at their surrounding, a firey symbol blazing on their forehead as they shuffle along.  Just as quickly as the apparition appeared, it wavers and is gone.

You shiver as a feeling of foreboding washes through you, along with the chill of a winter's wind.  The vision of a soft lilac skinned Alterian youth fills your head, an iridescent red brand burned onto their brow. The focus of the image grows closer and closer to their face and you are blinded by a garish crimson light as you draw nearer to the odd symbol...

A flash of an icy cave fills your vision, a tempest of snow swirling around you, freezing your limbs.  The numbing sensation feels unnatural and even deeper than the winter's cold...
