Any way we can be able to flee while in hiding, or at least retreat a little faster? Every time I hide and retreat, the thing always leaves before I can actually get fully retreated.

I'd rather creatures just not be able to leave while I'm engaged and hidden.

I just hate it when they flee when engaged with them. Turning their tails and running...ouch. PCs have to take time to retreat. Creatures should too.

You know, we have a FLEE command as well that seems to work pretty well.

You can't flee while in hiding. It tells you "They can't hit what they can't see" Well, if that's the case, I should be able to just walk away.

I could conceivably change flee to work while hiding, but I can't think of a single reason why it wouldn't reveal you in the process (re: Terrified, you turn and run from combat.), which in effect makes it fleeing while not hidden.

Edit: Corrected a Freudian spelling error.

just curious, but why do you want to retreat while hidden AND have them stay?

For me, there's a couple of reasons. One, because my weapon works far better at a distance (pole is best). Plus I don't like the occasional 'fumble' wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am-NOT where they whack you even if you have godlike skills/stats compared to them. I prefer to hunt from hiding for both reasons.

The annoying thing is, I can be engaged - at pole - hide, aim, and they walk off before I can shoot. I just want them to not be able to leave the room if I'm engaged (outside of fleeing), regardless of my visibility.

PS: Hangback doesn't work near as well as I hope one day it will, so it's not really an option yet.

Perfect case of gameplay vs. realism Wink

Players are required to retreat before they can leave the room. All I was asking for was that creatures follow the same 'rules of engagement'.

I believe that part of that is, to some extent, a bug. If a hidden opponent has engaged you, you aren't able to leave the room until you retreat; however, when you attempt to retreat, you're given the message that you aren't engaged with anyone. I think it's more likely that a person would be able to leave when they don't see someone than be pinned indefinitely in a room by a nonexistent (as it were) aggressor.

She's talking about when you're engaged with a critter and you're in hiding, they can just walk off, but you can't.

IIRC, players are unable to leave rooms when hidden critters in the warehouse on chodaku are engaging.
