Spells and GPS don't work the same way at all. And if you didn't notice, I said I modified the numbers more, so it's not "useless".

I dunno about you, but I think having *some* form of locate for droids is better than not having one at all.

Any thoughts in possibly storing locations in a droid? Like CC or Chodaku's library? Maybe we can buy location cards and install them and send them to places? It wouldn't be locating someone...but locating a...err...location. ^.^

sounds like a comm chip upgrade.

Yeah, that would be pretty cool too. Maybe like a homing chip...or a signal chip. If you want a droid sent to you, you can activate a homing chip. XD

Edit- by negatism, I mean Self-centered personality, and lack of an open mind.

I'm pretty sure Uncle Trevor wasn't lying to you, but it's your own choice to believe to the contrary in the face of facts.

okay, let me repeat.. again.. if a person is hiding/inviso/in a room that just plain blocks locate/GM... GPS will never find them.

HR-Trevor wrote:

Looking at this more...

The way psychic sight is set up is like this:

- If the room or character status (GM for example) blocks locates then the locate fails outright.

- If the target is hidden or invisible and either the locator does not have see invis, or the defender resists, the locate fails outright.

- If the target is out in the open, they will be found, period. However, if they resist, they are informed that they are being located by player X.

therefor, looking at this information you were incorrect to say that:

When you consider that players currently have no alternative for avoiding droids (short of hiding), to support anything else would be nothing short of blatantly hypocritical.

HR-Mickey wrote:
1. Psychic sight offers a resisted mental roll to let the person being located avoid it, and the located character has a chance to know it was attempted. A cloaked droid affords no such roll, makes no messaging, and they don't know it's there unless they decide to search.

and if we apply what was said about locate to a GPS locate..
someone with a comm on would be located almost instantly always, reguardless of hiding/inviso/level

You'll be happy to know that I will no longer be offering an opinion on anything related to this game, because I can't take your negatism, and nothing I offer relateted to a technician is considered.

and I think I'll finish with one more quote:

You insisted (twice) that there was no sort of skill check to prevent psychic sight, which I disproved (twice). How that suddenly correlates to something you [never] said about room-blocks/GMs confuses me.

I'll only briefly shine a light on your vitriol and strawman style of argument as it relates to your insight on my "negatism", but suit yourself. I'm aware this all boils down to feelings of resentment over no longer being able to act so quick and freely with impunity, but that's just the way it's going to be.

And I'll rest my case on previous paragraph. If you really want to fight dirty with personal attacks, I might suggest that with your "Do as I say, not as I do" attitude and penchant for making up words, you'd make a fine addition to the Bush administration.

Location storage is doable, Kit, though I probably won't limit it to popular areas.. just no labs, workshops, homes, etc. Public rooms only. I'll jot it down for now, but it'll be a little while before I do that.

Reyn, I don't think Mickey was lying to you about any of what he was saying. You've just done some misinterpretation of information, and probably need to do some extra reading.

GPS won't lead a droid into an area that blocks followers, locates, droids, and so on. Hiding stops a droid completely. Activated comms will HELP towards (not guarantee) a successful locate.

Now, I'm locking this thread down. Any more suggestions can go into another thread.
