New thread for requests and suggestions
1. Can the item we want to repair with be understood? Example: I'd rather type 'repair my eyes' and have a casing kit in my hand than have to type 'repair my eyes with my casing kit.' There's a few things where the repairing object is understood if you hold it and others where it isn't.
Or...
2. Can we just put different kits in our toolkits and have it automatically pick the supplies? Sort of like lockpicking... Only you keep 'repair my eyes' for the lens, the sealant bottle, the casing, and the toolkit... Wearing a fully stocked toolkit then would make you able to keep repairing your eyes until they're fixed. _________________ "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" -- Adam Savage

For the first one, what if you're wearing a toolkit? Where should it look first? _________________ Why use logic when you can just...make stuff up? |

Well, some things you can repair while wearing a toolkit. Others you have to hold it. And still others you have to tell it what to repair the object with. It gets confusing. I know Faith just changed all med stuff so you can either wear the toolkit or hold it. _________________ "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" -- Adam Savage

Oh, I mean I get all that, but you're saying that "repair my eyes" should just know. Where should it check first? I mean, if you're holding a casing kit and wearing a toolkit, should it assume your hand first? That's what Im asking in accordance with your suggestion. _________________ Why use logic when you can just...make stuff up? |

Well, it should go with the way everything is. Hand first, then worn. Just like it's ground first, hand second, worn third, in a container fourth for other objects. _________________ "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" -- Adam Savage

Repair and lockpicking were written by two different people, as such they do not work the same. It's something to think about in Live though.. there's a lot of stuff I want to rewrite and make better, but I only have two hands.
If you're that worried about having to type too much to repair something, make a macro for it. It's pretty easy with the Wizard. You can even have multiple macro sets for the different function keys. _________________ Something wicked this way comes... |

Drake,
I was wondering what's in the works, esspecially for those of us on the higher end of the technical scale. Right now, everything can be done by level 50 (droid hacking I think is the very last skill...and all the upgrades can be done by then as well). I'm double that...and I've had nothing new to do at all since level 50.
So yeah...I'm curious about what I can look forward to for experienced techs...it doesn't have to be any cool level 100 abilities (Though I'd love that!)...but say something 70+. _________________ "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" -- Adam Savage

Something to link up gadgets and droids in a whole new way. _________________ Something wicked this way comes... |

^.^ Cool.
Can we have another tech-only meeting soon? I think some of us have some concerns/ideas...and we all wanna know what's been cooking. I'd rather talk among techs and in real time than on the boards. The last meeting was awesome. _________________ "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" -- Adam Savage
