I'll fix this, and I'll also see about putting some non armor clothing items with bonuses in the fishing system too (in addition to the current armor versions). _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato

Is Tshar gaining nskill parry as if he has 230 parry ranks? Is that why it's so slow? _________________ It is better to be pissed off than pissed on. |

It may be that way for parry, but that's not how it works for weapons. I have over 200 unarmed and I'm still gaining that in nskills. |

I think it's primarily still an issue of how the math is constructed and I'm looking into it Tshar. I'll post when I make an update so I can monitor your feedback. _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato

So yeah, after the nskills were reset, here's what I have.
Skill Sheet For Enverdi Blue'el:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Skill Name Progress Skill Name Progress
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Animal Handling : 0 (10%) Parry : 1 (49%)
Appraisal : 0 ( 3%) Psionic Ability : 0 ( 3%)
Light Armor : 1 (20%) Pulse Weapons : 0 (44%)
Locksmithing : 0 (19%) Stealth : 0 ( 4%)
Now, I hunt in the Fen. You get easily swarmed there. Although I spend a lot of my time retreating, I do manage to get smacked down a lot. However, I spend more time firing my gridgun than I do getting hit, so my question is: Why are my defensive skills doing so well when my Pulse hasn't even hit 50% of the first point? _________________ Why use logic when you can just...make stuff up? |

I've been making adjustments to skill gain rates and monitoring the progress, and will continue to do so. _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato

Does evading multiple hit moves count once towards experience gain or for each hit succesfully evaded/blocked/parried?
Example: Guards attack once. I evade once. That counts as one successful 'defend'.
Kucho uses pummel. I evade all four. That counts as one defend as well or four seperate defends?
It seems as though only a single grant is applied for each combat move, be it a single slash or a four-hit pummel.
-------------
When facing multiple opponents, do you have to be actively attacking each one to receive defense experience gains from them? Or is it just one move on anything that resets whatever timer, if it's setup that way.
-------------
Just some more input. Against Modan Kuchos, Tshar's Heavy Armor skill moves at roughly twice the rate as his evasion.
-------------
One more thing: Being surrounded doesn't teach tactics at all, only circling does. I would think that having multiple opponents on you would teach far better than circling something over and over. _________________ It is better to be pissed off than pissed on. |

The pummel counts as one attack for sake of skill gains.

Just be attacking, period.

You gain armor skill while attacking, too. This would explain that behavior. It looks like I should adjust gains a little though.

I didn't notice any tactics gain at all when circling people. _________________ >ask librarian about books

So I took Tshar to Kuchos today for 2 hours. Here are the combat gains. Keep in mind that I compensated for the time spent looking for mobs. This is pretty much 2 hours of constant dodging with 2-5 mobs on him at once.
Time - 12:00pm to 2:00pm
Evasion - 1.3712 to 10.7439
Tactics - 0.0000 to 8.3185
I used a script that made Tshar jab every 8 seconds with a circle after each jab. Most of the time I tried to have at least 2 Kuchos on him, the most being 5 at one time. So for most of the 2 hours he had between 2-5 Kuchos on him.
---------------
EDIT: I took him just now to Elite Guards and they teach worse than Kuchos which doesn't make much sense seeing as how Kuchos run from him all the time.
On the other hand, they seem to teach pulse really well. Gained about 5 ranks in 30 minutes so far, just shooting them over and over, no aiming and no shooting for a specific spot.
---------------
UPDATE: I took Tshar to Nowbi heh. Learned evasion great but only because of the sheer number of attacks being hurled at him. The exp grants don't seem to be ANY different between nowbi, kuchos and elite guards, which I find strange.
