I am thinking on training all four of the kinds of music.Im wondering does it take alot of skill to learn most of them the reason I ask is so I know how to train Im already behind but I want my player to have musical ability. He is of the Tech profession Im wondering if it would be worth my while to do that any input would be apprecitaed as I cant find any set number on what skill you have to have to learn songs.
Thank anyone for their time and input in advance

As a tech, I trained Kit in singing. There's a lot of useful songs for vocals like Mender's Verse and Battlefield Chant and Cook's Ditty and Wisecrack's Refrain that I find go for Kit. I weighed up all of the choices and picked on instrument to focus on based on what spellsongs would be useful for me. You should do the same. Just look at the lists of spells for each instrument and choose. _________________ "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" -- Adam Savage

IIRC, you can currently learn every spellsong before having 100 singing. at least for a non performer. i might be wrong though because i can't exactly recall when i learned chant of the great mother. i know meder's verse was around 74 for me, but i'm not sure if alteri get a learning bonus since that is the alteri song. _________________ A bright-eyed Thekko Ku Kalla dressed in a dapper sailor suit takes to flight and careers through the air toward the Modan Kucho and slams into him!

Mickey posted a list that was in general order once, it didn't say specifics on how much skill you need, but it gives you a general idea. I'll let somebody with greater search skills than I find it for you. If no one does by the next time I can get to a computer that can get on the message boards, I'll find it for you.
*Edit* Haidee posted a list in order in the spellsong list topic in the performer forum, in order and has whether you have to be performer to learn it. _________________ >ask librarian about books

I'm catching up late on this thead because of a 1000-mile move (or, if you buy into the rumors, being let go from the HR staff, HAHA!), but it looks like your question has been adequately answered. I do want to point out, however, that any vagueness of skill requirements on the GM side is deliberate; as a long-time RPG developer, I have this crazy notion of wanting players to figure things out on their own. There is a sticky thread with a full listing of spellsongs in general order of learn-ability, although it might be slightly off, since I made some changes as mentioned in other threads. Further, that list will definitely be obsolete with the new skill system rollout. _________________ Mickey Brunner
