Just curious if this has been covered yet:
Hypothetically, let's say the FBI goes through their new channels and decides to grab some information on you without a judge-issued subpeona. They find some stuff that eventually leads to your arrest. Now let's say they decide to try you in an open court instead of their private back-alley. Does the judge of this trial have to allow that evidence to be presented, or can they agree with the defense's motion to surpress?

The subpoenas are only supposed to be used for terrorism or clandestine intelligence cases. |
I've seen the (very, oh so very loose) description of "enemy combatant" as it was defined in the first Patriot Act; by the law's interpretation, they could ship you to Guantanamo Bay for something as [logically] unrelated as selling recreational drugs to your friends in your basement. Nevemind anything remotely resemblant to passively seditious behavior.
And what other kind of intelligence gathering do authorities engage in, if not clandestine? The really loud, obvious kind? _________________ Mickey Brunner

Kaelin Rae says, "Greaser."
Kaelin Rae looks at you and sighs. |
