It'd be pretty cool to see someone whittling at a thekko femur. I bet that urjakana would never wear out.

See the part about critters that drop boxes.

Yeah, I was aware. I was just making an idle statement that it'd be pretty badass to see someone whittling on a femur from Thekko.

Finding bones aren't skill based either correct? They are supposed to be rare I'm assuming, from what I've seen today. If I can find 1 bone in 100 critters, that doesn't sound that unfair. I'm curious as to how long they last for psionics however, if anyone has been able to check it out yet.

You know, PCs don't drop boxes when you kill them....

I think there is a problem with bone harvesting. It seems that younger trackers are able to get the bones easier than older trackers. It's just like how a person with low skills in Fishing are able to get more chests than someone with higher skills.

I did notice that I had to ask a 23rd tracker to get bones for me, since I wasn't able to as easily as she was. Within about 10 minutes, she came back with three of them from asapi. I'd spent a few hours trying and got a total of four, 2 from asapi, 1 from getok and 1 from rhurguls. If this is the case, (similar to fishing was) it'll be hard to get higher level (longer lasting) bones, like getok hounds, since only higher trackers can survive the area to butcher for the bones.

Just wondering if it's because I have such high skinning? I noticed I learned cooking from butchering, so do I need cooking to be able to get the bones?

This is definitely not the case. There is no skill check or level check in getting the bones, it's just a chance thing. The only way a new player could get the bones easier is if they can kill things faster than you.

For info:

I just did 12 asapi/eosh in 10 minutes. That included skinning and butchering them all. I'll keep trying, but I'd love to know how someone could do more than that faster, killing and skinning in that time frame.

I'll keep trying to check and see how long it takes me to get a bone.

edit: 16 asapi/eosh in 10 minutes that time.

Got one on the 46th critter in the park.
