Hmm, I just killed about 5 guards each taking about 90 seconds. I was aiming for the head each time.

Using my clone? Then what am I doing wrong?

Edit: 9 head shots, 4 other body parts and 2? misses.. much, much better and much faster. I might have been having a run of bad luck earlier, which don't help research I guess.

Assuming you're using lighting when it's dark, not fighting exhausted and low encumbrance (your encumbrance is quite low currently), I don't see any obvious problems. The weapons/skill you have would in theory allow you to kill a guard in 5-6 successful hits to one vital area, but landing those hits in that area is the trick. I did miss target a lot when I tested with your skills/stats, but I'd wager maybe 60% or so of my swings hit the mark.

Which.. all in all isn't so terrible. Especially for a medic at melee. Yes, I have to throw that in.. I just do. With all the tweaks up and down, I can still be content with combat which says a lot more than it might appear. Thank you so much Trevor for taking the time to test and post.

I'm still going to move up to paladin and see how I fair.

You're welcome. You might also wish to try to get your hands on some poisons or get your weapons poisoned. That won't help much on short fights but if you end up in a long one, it will shave off extra hp which will help in some cases.

Spawning rates for alot of hunting areas need to be checked out. In alot of cases, mobs will 'flock' to the lone hunter in the entire area, causing them to be overwhelmed too easily.

We also, likewise, have areas with low levels of creatures in them. However, spawn rates are based on the number of people in an area to an extent as well. So, even if there was a second person in the area it would only ncrease the number of critters.

My point is that the mobs 'flock' to the PC's. Alot of times they don't wander about the area, they move to the room the PC is in and advance.

If you're the lone hunter in the area, how do you determine they're flocking to you without being able to see all the rooms in the area at once?
I can semi understand though cause sometimes it gets hella crazy in beetles.

NPC's randomly spawn in any room in their spawn list. Assuming they don't move much after (which is pretty accurate), there is a 1/x chance of it landing in your room, where x is the number of rooms in that spawn area.

There are no mechanics in place that purposely avoid putting creatures in a given room. You do have some control over this issue however. If you're in an area for an extended time, you may wish to move around from time to time instead of staying in one room that will inevitably fill up if you can't kill things as quickly as they are spawned.

I noticed some discussion about poisons being recommended on weapons to help people with their hit damage (knock HP down). I used to siphon vigor and blood. I have a pair of gauntlets, that are classified as light armor but aid my unarmed skills.

Questions:
Can I apply poison to the gauntlets for attacking via unarmed?
Is there a way for a Guardian to use poisons in combat or another way to affect HP?
What stats/skills directly/indirectly lower unarmed RT for Guardians (I have already experimented with the stances I have)?

thanks

Currently poisons can only be applied to weapons and arrows.

as far as arrows goes, I was wondering fi there was a way that I could dip them or something.. as it is now, when I apply poison to an arrow, favorite being black vial, it only applies to teh first arrow of the bundle from what I've seen, kills me in the process, then I've got one shot to use that has poison. Was wondering if there was a way I might be able to poison a batch of arrows, and not have to bite it for each arrow.. Im not normally one to ask for changes, and get pissy about balance or nuffin, but would make my life and I think most archery users a little easier. blades can be used alot, and havin your one poisoned arrow break kinda bites.. anyway, sorry for rambling, to sum it up.

Would be nice to be able to applu poison to arrows, and have it hit more than one of them in the batch. Thanks.

Yes I think that it would be a huge help to apply to the whole batch and wasnt aware it wasnt this way. As far as you dying doing it if I am around I will apply for you if you would like

Ok. Is there any other way I might be able to affect critters HP?

And, what skills/stats might help me reduce RT for unarmed attacks?

Thank you
