Are there any plans in the future to have acrobatics take a bigger role in Combat? Guardians can leap now, but will anyone else be able to leap to melee?? Will it ever be a skill we can nskill in, or will it be only guardian?
I still would like to see advancing in and out of melee work a little faster. Does acrobatics effect how fast you go in and out of melee? Does anything effect how fast you can get in and out of melee? If so, what?
Sorry for all the questions, but any answers will be greatly appreciated. _________________ All explorers are seeking something they have lost. It is seldom they find it, and more seldom still that the attainment brings them greater happiness than the quest. |

I'm pretty sure that Athletics helps with that stuff. |

Acrobatics gives you a chance to automatically leap back to your feet after getting knocked down, which is pretty usefull if you're on your back with things trying to beat on you. _________________ ~Hunter~ |

I wish I'd have tested more back when I had a chance!!!!!!!! I think I did test hunting back when we first knew about the rolling back on your feet., with 140 or so in acrobatics. But without getting hit, I couldn't really roll back to my feet, and I didn't test like I should have. I should have tested in the sparring grounds, with 200 in acrobatics. Has anyone done that lately?
Thanks for the head's up! _________________ All explorers are seeking something they have lost. It is seldom they find it, and more seldom still that the attainment brings them greater happiness than the quest. |

Off the top of my head:
Acrobatics, Athletics, Tactics, Agility, Coordination, Intellect, Mentality, Perception, Vitality
All play a role in the engagement system. None of these are restricted to only one guild.
What most of these do should be relatively obvious; the rest are open to player testing. _________________ HR-Marduk

Guess what...
I've like the smallest miniscule inkling of what they're for. I guess my roots are about to show again. _________________ ~* TruSt iN YouRseLf *~ |

So all those skills and stats effect melee advancement and retreating? I sure wouldn't have guessed that at all. And my roots aren't showing! Not precisely.

Tactics, for example, no doubt provide some sort of benefit when you are taking on more than one creature at a time.

Actually, tactics plays a direct role in your ability to advance and retreat in certain situations, as do almost all of the skills/stats I listed.
As to the whether engagement times will be changing:
I'm definitely going to be re-evalutating engagement times after the latest round of combat tweaks is finished and I'm ready to implement the system in full. However, I'm much more likely to knock a few points off the base engagement speed than increase it, though I may increase stat-based bonuses slightly to compensate (though I still predict a minor decraase in engagement times overall). _________________ HR-Marduk

Is it safe to assume that tactics would have to be specifically trained vs an nskill situation? _________________ Stay true to yourself no matter the cost and you'll always know who you are. |

Are you asking if you will be forced to spend points instead of training by use? If so, then no, training by use will be possible for all skills. _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato
