Somewhere I must have missed Drake asking for such info.
This morning so far the parts I found were a pipe and a switch. The other day I found a lot of circuitboards, glass and pipes. |

....parts are in the JUNK hopper. Currently, I have enough parts to make 2 droidlights. I have 3 31 pound haversacks and 2 one fifty pound box with parts...so I have a ton of parts....just not one or 2 that I need to completely make a gadget. Do you guys ever pay attention? This is not about finding enough parts. This is about finding certain parts. _________________ "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" -- Adam Savage

Heres my list of what I found. Was a total of 30 minutes hunting.
8:34 am till 9:04 am
Code: |
3 circutboards, 1 high quality
2 transmiters, 1 high quality
2 coils, 1 high quality
2 casings, 2 high quality
1 tube
3 fuze kits
2 pipes
|
That was hunting alone and picking the boxes within the 30 minutes.

How's your perception? There has to be something behind you finding more... Kit hunts in the fens and kills in one shot. So it's not lack of boxes on that part. Yay for coils, btw. _________________ "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" -- Adam Savage

It's not as if I haven't asked over the comms. Frequently. Once every 30 minutes. To buy parts from people. The only person that said they find 30 an hour threw them out. I'm not saying I don't believe them, but going by the people that I buy from or give them to me (Stilldawn, Eartheart, Inaira, Adelina, Yaru) and by what Kit and Zap find hunting, it's not very much at all. |
that might just be the downside of being rather abrasive to people at times. if the system innately relies on buying found parts off other players, it only makes sense that you have to get along with other players.
does reliance on other players suck? at times. people got bored selling yaru hides and skins, so i can't make items with hides and skins anymore unless i get them myself. and, crazy surprise, i can't get getok skins yet. _________________ A bright-eyed Thekko Ku Kalla dressed in a dapper sailor suit takes to flight and careers through the air toward the Modan Kucho and slams into him!

It's not lack of people giving/selling Kit stuff. His friends have been awesome about it. Ah, maybe i'm just complaining too much. I should switch professions. I just don't like one as much as I like tech. Artisan or performer maybe. _________________ "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" -- Adam Savage

changing professions because a player based economy can't function right now is silly.
fact is, there's nothing to normally buy in haelrahv, and there is an excess of money.
yet, in HR, people don't mind both not spending money and not caring about getting money at the same time.
make the items and sell them to the tech person. that's what i did to most of my thought blockers, heh. _________________ A bright-eyed Thekko Ku Kalla dressed in a dapper sailor suit takes to flight and careers through the air toward the Modan Kucho and slams into him!

It' s not about making money. I really like playing my artisan because amking stuff for me is pretty fun. I feel crippled making gadgets because I don't have the right parts _________________ "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" -- Adam Savage

I'm slightly confused and trying to be as nice as possible here. Aren't you being just a little presumptious? You assume that Drake or any GM will tweak this because you feel that parts aren't dropping equally and fast enough and can prove that?
Please try to keep the sarcasm down, it doesn't help things. _________________ Stay true to yourself no matter the cost and you'll always know who you are. |

oooo I think it would be great if people could sell these items to the pawnshop. They would actually go into stock. Then people like Kit could buy them there for a slightly higher price. _________________ Mellie Amresh says, "Send someone with a bigger dick."

Just some thoughts:
1. If all of the gadget components are in the junk hopper, I don't think individual drop rates can be adjusted. I'm fairly certain that everything in that hopper has an equal chance of being generated at any given box-drop. I would suggest hunting without the luck cord, however, if you want more junk to be dumped.
2. You keep mentioning that you're not able to find "the right parts". Someone else has already brought up the fact that more gadgets are going to be released that will probably use the parts you tend to find frequently at the moment. So, right now, "the right parts" are probably not going to be much of a concern whenever the next wave of gadgets are released.
I thought I had more, but apparently not.

Mickey said a luck cord is ONLY for finding boxes. It does not increase the chance of finding better stuff in boxes.
The right parts: coils. I have none again. I need coils and plastic chips above anything else. Without coils I can not build droidlights or flashlights. That's what I mean by the 'right' parts. I only sell my gadgets to Shavcire now, and I make between 1-2k on them. But I can't make a gadget without a coil. well IIRC, you're not supposed to be constantly making/selling gadgets to NPCs.
the reason you're supposed to be able to (eventually) take apart gadgets because all parts are not meant to be always available.
i like the idea of selling parts to the NPC and, in turn, the NPC having an inventory to sell, but personally since parts sell for $10-25, it's not worth lugging them to a store. heck, when i go hunting i don't even carry commodity finds on me. i just take weapons, vests, pills, dermagels, and the ill-whatever slabs. but that's just how i hunt. _________________ A bright-eyed Thekko Ku Kalla dressed in a dapper sailor suit takes to flight and careers through the air toward the Modan Kucho and slams into him!

Despite the fact that you get sick amounts of cash, it's llichnai slabs. Gadget parts seem to have made a random jump; all of them seem to be worth more, with the top one I found selling at $410. Still not really worth carrying, though. |
