Fabrics I'd like to see:
moleskin (this is probably my favorite fabric. Anyone who has some of this RL will know what I'm talking about. Soft - feels like a cross between silk and velvet, but extremely durable).
tweed
terrycloth
broadcloth
crepe
chenille
flannel
seersucker
damask
pongee
chiffon
chintz
gabardine
chambray
herringbone
corduroy
sateen
(all of the below are made from manufactured materials, but aren't trademarked...I checked )
nylon
rayon
polyester
spandex _________________

chiffon does exist.
but the rest is cool, too.
as a sidenote: there ARE more materials on the way according to the great Valla, but she says they won't come out until the new skill system, since they're coded for nskills.
personally, i say release them anyway, because i wanna see how far i can go on this system with the new system. _________________ A bright-eyed Thekko Ku Kalla dressed in a dapper sailor suit takes to flight and careers through the air toward the Modan Kucho and slams into him!

the only thing i think the tailoring system could really use right now are more leather-like fabrics.
we can tailor boots and all, but other than karbora and midnight black leather i can't really see what store-sold fabrics/skeins are really suitable for boots. we got stuff that works awesome for slippers, but boots i'm unsure of.
then again, some sshliss skin dress boots do sound cool, so i can't say it's too terrible that we don't have leather stuff available to use really.
just leaving a note saying it would be completely awesome to see some leather stuff available to use for tailored goods that don't seem really suitable for silk/wool/cotton. _________________ A bright-eyed Thekko Ku Kalla dressed in a dapper sailor suit takes to flight and careers through the air toward the Modan Kucho and slams into him!

I missed it the first time around.
Anyway, I'm thrilled about the wider choices in fabrics, patterns, etc., was just suggesting more.
How about that moleskin? ::hint hint:: _________________

Skin are leathers! I know you said that already, but I'm going to expand on it. The dyer should let you dye skins and pelts too. _________________ "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" -- Adam Savage

That is a great list of suggestions for more fabrics, and more will be released in the future. And I think I can squeeze moleskin in too.
As for dyeing skins/pelts/hides, I agree that you should be able to dye those as well. That is a system that is on my to do list, so keep an eye out for it. _________________ ~Well behaved women rarely make history~

i know we have 'cotton'.
i'd love to see a default 'wool' and 'silk', too.
i probably mentioned that elsewhere, though. _________________ A bright-eyed Thekko Ku Kalla dressed in a dapper sailor suit takes to flight and careers through the air toward the Modan Kucho and slams into him!

What about something like knitting or crochetting to make lace rather then weaving? _________________ "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" -- Adam Savage

Actually delicate lace is made by tatting. Filet crochet is for doilies, tablecloths, napkins, <a style='text-decoration: none; border-bottom: 3px double;' href="http://www.serverlogic3.com/lm/rtl3.asp?si=24&k=napkin%20rings" onmouseover="window.status='napkin rings'; return true;" onmouseout="window.status=''; return true;">napkin rings</a>, curtains. I would know I've done it for years.
Edit: I forgot wall hangings.
