Drake! What skill will we need to build gadgets? I'm guessing craftmanship...but we don't triple train it...which really puts us at a disadvantage if that's the case.
William: And I know, there will be no more triple trained stuff whenever the XP system roles out, but for now, it does matter. Also, if it DOES take craftmanship, techs would probably need a boost in the new XP system.
Or will building gadgets work off of repair, intellect, cordination, and electronics? _________________ "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" -- Adam Savage

if electronic craftsmanship will work the same as tailoring and woodworking, mentallity is generally used, not intellect. perception's also liked, too. _________________ A bright-eyed Thekko Ku Kalla dressed in a dapper sailor suit takes to flight and careers through the air toward the Modan Kucho and slams into him!

I would think Electronics would be needed. You know, because gadgets are going to need circuit boards to coordinate their moving parts. And stuff. I doubt craftsmanship is going to be used that much. That skill tends to lean more toward crafting skills like gemcutting and armorcrafting (and weaponcrafting and furniture making when they come out).
Though, I suppose you could make the argument that you're crafting the gadgets. But since you don't triple it at the moment -- nor would have a bonus to gaining the skill when the changes come through -- I doubt Drake will make that a requirement. If he does, it should be more of a "have a little boost with this skill, but it won't penalize you if you don't have it" kind of deal.
Ho de dum.

Everything else of ours works off of coordination and intellect and I've been neglecting mentality. So I hope that's not the case. _________________ "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" -- Adam Savage

Mentality is a very critical state for any tasks that require concentration, focus or discipline. The more important those aspects are to a task, the more weight mentality has in determining success. _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato

Mentality makes you a better gunner, anyway. Yeah yeah, Kit is (now) trained for tech-stuff not combat..but you still hunt a lot. |

Power tools will be needed for portions of the gadget creation process, however, as we all know, power tools are dangerous. They're dangerous for everyone, but moreso for the inexperienced.
To use a power tool, it just needs to be in the room. If the power tool you need for the next step of the creation process isn't in the room, you'll be told as such. _________________ Something wicked this way comes... |

You're killing at least two of us! Hehe. I don't think we could get more excited. Powertools! Every little girl's dream. Okay, not really. I can't wait to see what the HR equivalent of power tools is though! _________________ "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" -- Adam Savage

Aren't gem cutting/grinding/buffing tools, mini power tools? Those are quite fun as it is but I'm looking forward to checking out the bigger models used for gadgets. _________________ All explorers are seeking something they have lost.
