I think a nice addition to the UR bin would be unique cyber upgrades.
- Super durable armor for cyber parts.
- Chips that enhance specific skills .
- Chips that lower RT for specific actions like foraging, combat, searching, scouting, etc. _________________ It is better to be pissed off than pissed on. |

Very nice idea, Tshar.
I'd also suggested cybergear (legs, arms, feet, hands) that are naturally more durable -- something like 2x or even 3x -- as the store-bought stuff. You could balance this out by having them affect your encumbrance a little. I think most people would trade -5% encumbrance for a piece of cybergear that is 200-300% as durable.

i'd love to see some UR (or even R) cybergear weapons. i wouldn't use them myself, but a handgun-hand (marksmanship) or a flamethrower-hand (exotic) would be amusing.
you know you want me to have an excuse to roll up a trooper that can pose as haelrahv's version of megaman. _________________ A bright-eyed Thekko Ku Kalla dressed in a dapper sailor suit takes to flight and careers through the air toward the Modan Kucho and slams into him!

Enverdi asked the cyber tech last time he was here for that sorta stuff. I think it woulda been cooler for merchants. Fest! _________________ "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" -- Adam Savage

Yeah, I asked about a pulse hand upgrade, and Drake said it was possible, just not a priority. _________________ Why use logic when you can just...make stuff up? |

How would it be handled? In the finger or the entire hand? If it was the entire hand then that hand wouldn't be useable normally. And if it was just a finger, I don't think it would be able to be very powerful. _________________ It is better to be pissed off than pissed on. |

Could put the weapon in the arm (probably would take up all of the upgrade slots) and require the person to detach the hand. Yeah, total rip-off of Megaman. But at least Yaru would be happy.

Why not? Have the lens in the palm. Or have the trigger in the palm and then finger be the barrel. Or have it used when the hand becomes a fist (the fingers fitting into a pattern on the palm to activate the gun) and the middle knuckle becomes the firing lens. For regular guns it wouldn't work. But for pulse anything is possible. That's why I love pulse. And I love my pulse spheres!
Code: |
You tap an emerald drachna pulse sphere with a moving crystal eye.
The weapons is large enough to fit in the palm. Sensors have been installed into the sphere to alert it of where the holder's fingers are so that it can be gripped safely without stray apendages getting in the way of the pulse lens. The sphere has a silver indentation for the thumb trigger. The trap door for the core chamber is under this pressure sensitive button. |

i can see a gun cyberpart or just a gun upgrade.
a part (or upgrade) that shoots bullets sounds logical to me, i might just question the number of rounds it can carry before it reloads.
but, yes, pulse might make a ton of more sense. _________________ A bright-eyed Thekko Ku Kalla dressed in a dapper sailor suit takes to flight and careers through the air toward the Modan Kucho and slams into him!

I'd figure something more along the lines of what Vash from Trigun has. _________________

Trigun rocks. But Vash's whole arm is a super death ray. I think. God it's been forever since I've seen it. I think pulse weapons are so awesome because they really can be anything. Laser = yummy. _________________ "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" -- Adam Savage

The other thing, where his hand folds back and a little SMG or whatever pops up. Not the whole plant-arm-death-ray-gun-thingy. _________________

I think a cyber-pulse gun would probably take up your entire hand. Since it'd be replacing your hand though, you might get a bonus to the stability of your shot (e.g. marksmanship) or something. Buuuut, nothing like that is in the works right now as far as I know, so you'll have to wait. _________________ Something wicked this way comes... |
