Here's a few examples of woodworking in use

You are holding a hatchet in your right hand and a wooden limb in the left.

Ayup, gotta agree, nice items, especially the longbow.
Question I have though is what stat/skill levels did/do you have to make the items that quickly (and what seemed perfectly as no appraisal/examination was done)?
Reason I'm asking is so that I have a general idea (as I know you can't/won't give out specifics at this stage) of what level I should be at as an Eolai Tracker to make longbows. Thanks much

What I can tell you is that my skills/stats were set to about 50th level tracker, that's not the easiest nor the hardest wood type, there was actually 2 imperfect carves, though I won't say which ones, and that despite that imperfection it's still a decient bit better then a standard bow. _________________ ~Hunter~ |

Okay, thanks much for the quick reply. It gives me a target to aim for (pun not intended ) when making longbows.
Any chance of an appraisal though??

In all seriousness though (well okay, partly then) the hatchet that was used for the poplar ring, will it also be a weapon or is it only a crafting tool at this stage?
I think it would be nice inclusion as a chopping weapon.
Just imagine using a razor sharp hatchet whilst ambushing........

just wanted to throw myself inta the conversation here...you'll be able to use most bladed weapons to do the whittling and shaping, but for things like detailing and inscribing you need to use your trusty toolkit :indicates her leather toolbelt with a smile: _________________ God has no place within these walls, just as facts have no place within organized religion.

Okay, thanks much for the clarification.
With weapons in mind (ducks from the Board Nazi, knowing this is slightly off topic) can edged weapons be sharpened (with enough skill of course) or will they be a non-alterable item?
Next question, will the leather toolbelt be obtainable by the general rabble or is it one of those Guru type items which we may drool over but never own ourselves? _________________ ~My Reality Check Bounced~

I could never figure out how after fighting an armoured enemy and then fighting a natural critter (you're garden variety furry types) why my sword had not encurred any damage (blunting, knicks out of the edge, point snapped off, etc) but stayed at a razor sharp edge.
Yah know, I'm getting to like this world more and more. It will (IMO) really open the roads for some serious RP, where the majority of day-to-day actions affect the outcome of how your character survives. As opposed to the majority of the other RPGs out there where the focus seems to be directed mainly at combat.
Oh, please point me in the direction of the weapon sharpening toolkit and sundry accessories Shop please. I'm still new in town and don't know my way around. And if you could, I'd like to borrow some coins off you to buy it.... Promise I'll pay it back

just a quick question, Hunter mentioned in a former post that he set his skills to that of a 50th or so tracker when he showed us the way of fletching bows and carving and detailing. Does that mean we will have to wait til our skills in those trade hit the 150ish mark to give that a try? I know it was mentioned that toolkits were not available yet, but I am dying to give it a try, even if I cant detail "I stink at carving " on the ring yet! _________________ Sway..... |
