I've never understood the greatness of chicken fried steak. That's like a heart-attack waiting to happen. |
If anyone were to describe the "greatness" of a food, it would generally be a description of its taste, not its healthiness.
While some foods people posted in this thread in fact may be healthy, I don't think many people consider a certain food to be a "favorite" based purely on its healthiness. And, in fact, healthiness wasn't part of the posed question/poll. |
Well, it's not all that tasty either. In my opinion.

My college cafeteria serves a very strange chicken-fried steak made from some sort of mystery meat that is..um..better than the beef rolls? |

Mm chicken-fried steak and chicken-fried chicken. Second (and third) to chicken and dumplins. I may not enjoy the South, but I love its food. _________________ ** The phrase "break a leg" just wasn't ambitious enough for Mellie Knight. [8:31 pm]

my two favourites are homemade rouladen and spaetzle. the rouladen is a sort of roasted/simmered beef-roll with chopped bacon, onion, and various other ingredients inside. the spaetzle is a thick egg noodle. the leftover juice from cooking the rouladen makes a good brown gravy. this is great german food, i make it usually around festive occasions.
some other things i like ..
canned lychee fruit in juice
canned coconut juice with coconut bits (found in asian grocery)
homemade ramen with chopped green onion garnish
moose jerky
seafood makes me sick, so i cant eat that, but where im from, the salmon and king crab are all the rage.
