Just to give anyone on my list a heads up, my screen name will be changing soon. I am getting rid of AOL and thus must make an AIM name instead. I will update here when the change happens.

I *THINK* but I'm not totally sure that you can use an AOL screenname on AIM even after you have canceled your account. Try it out. ^_^

| Gaim's better. It can actually process hyperlinks in people's info. Plus, it's on version 1.0.1, which is higher than 0.74 *nods*. |

You should go with AIM, simply to see my buddy icon smile and laugh and other stuff when I talk. ::nods::
But yeah, I had my old AOL screen name for years over AIM after I cancelled....until I realized forgot the password and needed it, and the e-mail address they sent the password to was my AOL one...

I'm using Trillian Pro 2.0, and recommend it highly. I really haven't played with Gaim, so I can't say much about it, but look at it's listed features and Trillian Pro's, Trillian Pro wins hands down. Between the free Trillian and Gaim, it's probably pretty close. I went Pro because it had features I wanted that no other IM (free or not) I could find did.
What I DON'T recommend, ever, is using AIM. Especially the later versions. Loads so much crap (including, but not limited to spyware) on your system that it isn't even funny.
Edit: Trillian loads up buddy icons just fine, Dante. You should IM me just to see mine.
