Again, as I was sitting here reading the skill list (even though I know it's probably not final, but it's fun anyway).. I got to thinking about my little baby Techie and how he's going to get his first few batches of levels. Yes, I know that there're going to be things like gardening and cooking and foraging and all kinds of other stuff to get experience other than hunting, but we all have to admit -- hunting's probably going to be the prime source of experience for a lot of people.

So, since Techies start up with a cheap little pulse pistol (probably from Toys R Us, but I digress), I thought I'd just triple train Pulse Weapons (as I was going to do anyway, regardless if I actually decide to hunt in the beginning). Now, was it ever said if Coordination would help with the use of PWs (and he coins a new term for all of Hael.. yay)? I thought I read something about that, but I'm unsure.. so.. I'm checking. Heh. If it does, then my Alteri Techie is going to own with them. Yee!

--William, who finds it amusing that he probably won't find any hunting area until two weeks into the Alpha Test, and when he finally does.. it'll be a 50th+ level area

Yes, coordination fits largely into combat as a whole, as far as accuracy. For ranged weapons, perception will also factor in.

BTW, pulse weapons are fairly expensive (tho they require no ammo, yay) ... so they may or may not be feasible to use from day one. Depends in part on how comfortable you are on spending a lot of money on weaponry instead of other stuff.

Sweet. Go Techies with their start-up pulse weapon! Very Happy

..Did you also say somewhere that PWs will have a higher chance of degrading in quality after being used (multiple times in a row, though, I'd hope)? Also, was it said that they'd have a slight chance of going *BOOM* while being used? ::Twitch::

All fired arms have a general decrease in their ability to sustain damage. Pulse weapons in particular, however, can also overheat if used a lot, causing damage. Also, pulse weapons have a recharge time during which the weapon can't be used. Of course, intermittently using the weapon with short breaks helps curb both overheating and recharge. Perhaps take breaks to open boxes, heal, etc?
