I was only thinking in terms of selling. One does of those potions isnt worth the space they would take up in my pack. I always just discard them along with the box. Id just like them to be worth picking up since they count as 'treasure'. But to me they are along the same lines as the limbs and rusty bucklers you find as treasure as well hehe. _________________ It is better to be pissed off than pissed on. |

I decided to do a little test and check something out. . .I got 10 boxes from modan kuchos and 10 boxes from berserkers. . .a HUGE level gap in monsters.
Mellie was doing the searching and she gave me permission to disclose her perception which is 170 with the +20 to all stats(150 normally), in addition I let her wear the cord with lucky trait bonus and she already has the lucky trait on top of that.
-Modan Kucho boxes-
>op crate
You open a shabby kokrugun crate.
Inside the crate you see a vellian ingot and a scrap of tattered cloth.
>op lock
You open a dilapidated ocia lockbox.
Inside the lockbox you see a stubby vial filled with a bright orange substance and a fortune cookie.
>op lock
You open a well-crafted tovqa lockbox.
Inside the lockbox you see some cash and some sturdy bolts.
>op crate
You open a stout jalumin crate.
Inside the crate you see a vellian bar, a rugged traveler's pack, and an alloy ingot.
>op chest
You open a poorly-made vyeftium chest.
Inside the chest you see a thin vial filled with a black liquid and a rugged traveler's pack.
>op safe
You open a well-crafted xoyeis safe.
Inside the safe you see a haeleio limb, a skinning knife, and a turquoise stone.
>op box
You open a ragged silbein box.
Inside the box you see a vellian ingot and some cash.
>op coff
You open a ragged saifbraelsh coffer.
Inside the coffer you see a slab of pink eorit stone and some standard AG9 rounds.
>op vess
You open a nicked paraqin vessel.
Inside the vessel you see a super-charged battery and some cash.
>op trunk
You open a rugged xoyeis trunk.
Inside the trunk you see some broken glass, a chipped tooth, and some cash.
------------------------------
-Berserker boxes-
>op cask
You open a ramshackle xoyeis casket.
Inside the casket you see a book entitled The Fall of the Great Gemrem and a book containing the scriptures of the Dark Lord Ilafai.
>op safe
You open a poorly-made kokrugun safe.
Inside the safe you see some cash and a small bone.
>op box
You open a scarred eorae box.
Inside the box you see a stubby vial filled with a bright orange substance and an Ilafai stone.
>op coff
You open a poorly-made kokrugun coffer.
Inside the coffer you see a badly dented rusty steel buckler, a heavy borkin-made spiked club, and a standard battery.
>op cask
You open a weather-beaten haeleio casket.
Inside the casket you see an Ilafai stone and a high quality telyron patrol vest.
>op trunk
You open a poorly-made ocia trunk.
Inside the trunk you see a ruby, some cash, and some cash.
>op cask
You open a ramshackle silferton casket.
Inside the casket you see some cash and some standard TG7 shells.
>op ches
You open a crude silferton chest.
Inside the chest you see a catlas flower, a copper ingot, and some cash.
>op coff
You open a dilapidated tovqa coffer.
Inside the coffer you see a turquoise stone, an Ilafai stone, and a turquoise stone.
>op vess
You open a weather-beaten ailferton vessel.
Inside the vessel you see some sturdy bolts and some standard TG7 shells.
Basically I see no difference in the 2 class of boxes. Even the number of units of the foragables\gems\metals seemed to be random. 10 units here, 40 there from berserkers and kuchos.
Are ammo and the one dose vials of potions classified as 'junk'? _________________ It is better to be pissed off than pissed on. |

From that small peek, it looks like the berserker boxes netted you more. Just from the two books and the club, that's about $5k right there. While to me, the alchemy components are quite valuable, the boxes do seem a bit too similar.
And I agree with counting the ammo as junk. The vials have fluctuating prices that are usually well above $60 each. It's not a lot, but it's better than $6 or $7 for a thing of ammo.. _________________ Help! Help! I'm being oppressed! |

10 boxes isn't really a fair test, though. I mean, it's more than I'd be willing (or have time) to do, but I don't think you'll get a real accurate measurement.
The main difference I've noticed (I think, I don't remember berserker boxes) was that you find larger bundles of cash in larger boxes. Or something like that. I mean, there's a better chance to find rare stuff, but it's still rare stuff... so it's hard to get a good measurement without getting like, 2000 boxes from them both *grins*. |

I can assure you that statistically speaking, you receive more treasure and better treasure from higher creatures. _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato

I really shouldn't post this, but Mellie dared me:
Trevor, that's like Stalin saying, "I assure you, Communism is going to win."

Not that I think Trevor has something wrong in there.
Not until I actually tested it a bit, myself.

The Treasure system was something Trevor was going to work on way back before i even left HR, but he's probaby been very busy working on
things like "Live" and other more pressing issues.
There was a post he made about reducing the amount of junk items in boxes, this seemed like a ray of hope for those of us
who's bread and butter comes from hunting.Wheither that change occured or not i cant tell with the results ive gotten as of late.
Ammo is still a prevalant item as well as scorched wire and other irrelevant junk to us non errand runner types. I see broken glass and toss it too much burden=death in hunting.
I'm sure Trevor will review and adjust the treasure system when he can give it a fair enough amount of attention.
I'd like to see my cup overflowing but at 11th promotion, i know better then to expect riches and uber rares ona regular basis
