| Hmm, Ok, I am not worried so much about making them. But it seems to me that my character, as a tech, is less suited to Magic, then tech. So personally, I would like a Tech alternative, to some of the things people have magically. Yes, my Cybernetic Eyes, versus potions. If I COULD have learned a locating technique, through Magic, then make a less mystical locating method. I wouldn't mind if I had to give my friends a chip, so that they could CHOOSE to let me find them or not. ALso, when I get high enough, I could install a GPS uplink in my droid, have it find someone and use the camera, which I ALSO cannot install to look at the room. Now that would require a knowledge of rooms, but that's life. It would have to be an arm mounted Camera. |

If you're just looking for stuff to make/repair, you're gonna get a slew of stuff at some point. More info about that when I hold a Tech meeting. |

Wow, your post was a bit hard to read, but I think I get the gist.
I forgot all about GPS uplinks....probably because I can't install anything on the Beast yet. Hehe. I was thinking of something that could be used in secret, and instead of locating the person, you would have to read the tracking device as it blips a new direction from room to room. |

I think this makes more sense for mercs to use...but I still wanna make em/fix em!
I think it would be awesome if techs had their hands in a whole whole lot of stuff that can help other professions. I mean, everyone needs a repair guy from time to time.
I also see the profession of a tech to be more then just repair, but of engineering new ideas too....like playing with scraps and putting together new and unusual things....
Kit's really introverted, esspecially with some recent events, and he really fancies machine-like personality. He could definately become like Kublah Kraus from the animated "Jack Frost"...you know, building himself friends and stuff like that.

Yes, I saw it as something Mercs could use, but something that Techs could build and sell to Mercs. To avoid conflicting with the locate abilites, the tracking system could be more like the Tracking skill, where the locator device would say/read something like:
Target went south.
or
Target is one click east of your postion. Proceed with caution.
<shrugs> Just a suggestion.

That's exactly what I meant. You would have to look at the hand held device..it would just tell you where the person is in location to where you are. |
