Thanks Drake...very reasonable way of doing things...I just wanted to make sure what was what before I decide. _________________ Dregonard Lefear offers a voodoo shrunken Arakaweii head to you.

Has anyone owned a MAD yet? What do they do? How are they different from AD? I can afford a MAD, but you can do chem labs and stuff with an AD. I don't wanna screw up...I only have enough money for one. |

The difference in all droids are the number of slots that each has, which defines which and how many tool kit-type things can be installed into a droid.
A MAD-type droid definately has many more slots than an AD-type. In future updates, I'll be limiting which core parts can be installed into droids -- physically large parts will obviously not be able to be installed into a small droid, and vice versa (with the exception of chip-type parts).
For example.. a simple gearbox would work just fine in an Air Drone, but the newly-released supercharged hydraulic power system would be a little too big. Conversely, a simple gearbox is just too small for a Massive Armored Droid, but a supercharged hydraulic power system would be juuuust right.
As of this moment, you can put anything into any droid, but that will change in the future. I don't expect it to change for a while though, not until I add part degradation.
If you wanna be cheap and get the smallest parts, go ahead.. but for things like cloaking, etc., having better internal core parts will result in longer cloaking times. _________________ Something wicked this way comes... |

A 12 foot tall robot is just...huge. Can you put voice and personality chips in them? (I'm guessing yes). Well, still can't get into the Vale...and now there is a plastic surgeon who might be coming...so I still can't buy one. ;.; |

Speaking of the Vale, it was restocked yesterday -- the tailoring and some other items I mean. _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato

No, it'll probably be in Llanfair, so anyone can access it. _________________ Something wicked this way comes... |

I haven't decided yet whether or not to make you techies bring your droid to the storage center, or to allow you to use "COMMAND <droid> TO LEAVE" and have it go to the center on its own.. either way, you'll have to pay the storage fee. "COMMAND <droid> TO RETURN" WILL be disabled at this point, however. |
Throwing in my 2 cents here, I'd love to eventually be able to have my droid leave on it's own, and maybe even have the 'other' droid that would be in storage (if a tech had both kinds) to show up in it's place if we wanted.
Not because I'm lazy (alllllright, maybe a little!), but because I think it would be kinda cool to have one droid leave the room sadly to be shoved into storage, while the new droid tottered in afterwards swearing under his breath that he never gets any rest, or something.
Awesome stuff you've been doing with this system, Drake, thank you! _________________ Before you can react, several abberated lifeforms rend their way out of your chest. Congratulations, you're a mom!

I pondered over this for a while (at least a week).. while it would be nice to have one leave and the other show up, I want you guys to have to do some leg work when it comes to having multiple droids. It's much too easy to have them at your complete beck and call, dragging one into any room you want to provide one type of bonus, then disbanding them in favor of another to give you another type of bonus, etc. If you want a different droid, you'll have to bring in your current droid, pay the fee, then sign a different droid out.
To go along with that, if you log out, your droid will also "log out" in the room it's currently in (unless it's in storage). When you log back in, your droid will come back into the room where it "logged out". It won't stay out of the game until you tell it to return anymore.
And, thanks. _________________ Something wicked this way comes... |

Hmm..will we be getting other commands to replace it? I love using my drone to find people, but I don't want to have to hike out to where they are to get it to come back to me, or just stop following them.. |

Perhaps I was hasty in saying that the entire command would be disabled..
Just the function of having it return from storage, or "logged off" mode would be disabled.
Having it return after it finds someone, or if it's sitting around active somewhere will still be possible. _________________ Something wicked this way comes... |

I was wondering if midnight black leather swatches have sold out that quickly or if they might have been overlooked. _________________ Tiena Rhyker |
