I'm just curious if guns are going to be more desirable in "live." Right now, because there's no engagement system, it's kinda useless to use guns. I tested just now, and at least 3/4th of the time, Vhen (almost 190 pulse, ridiculous coord, remarkable quality rifle) couldn't hit a dinede beetle (95ish evasion, unknown stats) without aiming. I'll admit that my perc isn't the greatest, so that may be a factor, but I'd think my coord would make up for it, somewhat.
Even with the engagement system, I can make it from one side of the room to the other and pull off a 4-hit pummel in the about same amount of time that it would take to aim and fire my gun once.
Don't take this the wrong way, though. I'm not whining about anything (I don't think I'll continue to train pulse, however), I'm just curious how ranged stuff is going to be handled with the new combat system, because right now it's really a bad idea to specialize in pulse, in my opinion. |

Well, they're not all bad, it just depends on what you're hunting/doing. I mean, you could be using a heavy weapon or have low coord, so the aiming and firing might not be very long compared to your normal hunting stuff. Plus, it's almost impossible to get tired using ranged weapons. They do have an up-side, but once you get higher the pros aren't as important, because you'll probably have a lot of stamina and stuff like that. I dunno, that's just my uninformed opinion. |

Yes, there are plans to make firearms more desirable. And yes, just an ES would go a long way. _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato

I keep my coord and perc about equal, and I only need to aim once usually, after that I can kill with a snapshot or two. For me, pulse vs. unarmed is about strength. My strength and stamina are about half my perc, and I never really plan to train them up. |
