Is there anyway to cut or shape gems to increase the value of the them?
If not, wouldn't it be a fantastic skill?
Maybe you could couple it with a silversmithing skill so you could create settings for the fancy gems you've just cut and make some jewelry you could sell for even more.
Is there already something out there like this? If not, is there any merit to this idea? |

I believe something like this is planned for live. Probably falls under craftsmanship.

Well I don't like to spoil surprises, but guess I have to in this case. I'm working on this as we speak, well the gem cutting part of it anyways. Silversmithing (or the Haelrahv equivalent of silver) will not be available until live most likely, so the settings will be pre-made. It will fall under craftsmanship here, though in the live version there will most likely be a lapidary skill.
There will be two different types of cutting available, cabochon cutting and faceting. The first to be released will be cab cutting, faceting most likely will not be released until live, but we'll see, that may change.

I'm hoping to get this released within a couple weeks if not sooner, I've been under the weather lately so things have been delayed a bit.
