As of Saturday, 04/10/04, Haelrahv implements a new policy regarding play habits of players deemed to be disruptive to the community due to apparent 'real-life' intoxication.

Haelrahv has enjoyed loose policies - be it for the good or bad, or more likely, some of both - since its inception. This is due to our firm belief that the members of a community should be as free as reasonably possible to enjoy themselves without need for censorship or staff involvement. On the whole, we believe this makes for a more enjoyable community.

However, when someone is intoxicated in 'real life', their actions can be erratic, unpredictable and abusive, and in virtually no case are their actions due to their preferences as a player / customer, but rather due to the substances they have used. We make no judgments whatsoever on what persons do in their personal life, and this policy is in no way indicative of any intent to limit what substances people may use in their personal lives. Even so, when it affects the community in a negative way, the influences of these substances must be removed by the only means possible - removing the player.

Since we as a staff cannot in any way determine whether a player is truly intoxicated or not, we will simply do our very best to observe how a player is acting and carrying themselves, to determine if their actions may be based on substance abuse at the time. If it is deemed so, and the player is being abusive to other players or in any way a disruption, the staff will give said player one caution to cool it down. After such caution if they do not do so, this player will be removed from game play for the remainder of the evening and some portion of the next morning at minimum.

Players who exhibit an enduring pattern of this type of behavior will not merely be booted out for the night over and over. Such persons will receive increasingly longer suspensions from play, up to and including the possibility of permanent ban.

Thank you to all of our players that have supported the community and continue to do so. We greatly appreciate your support and hope you will find this policy to be an improvement for that community.

Any questions regarding this policy should be directed to hr-trevor@haelrahv.com.
