1) Is it going to be live when the game starts? If not, is it a goal for the first quarter?
Can you describe the housing system a little bit? Will it be able to be multi-roomed? What kind of things are you going to allow us to have in our houses.
Also, a suggestion I have for houses, is that we can have addresses on streets and/or signs outside, on the lawn, by the door, or something. It'd be really great to be able to work out of your home and have people really be able to know where you live. |

We'd like to have it in at launch, hard to say yet if we'll be able to make that goal. It'll be a top priority if it isn't out immediately.
A lot of the details on homes haven't been worked out yet. But, while you may start out with a small one-room home perhaps (perhaps), multi-room housing will be available.
Players will probably have the ability to store a limited but somewhat generous amount of items (any kind of item) in their home.
We'll try to provide as many purchasable and craftable furnishings as possible, though it's too early to tell how much will be available when homes come out. It'll be a goal to constantly add to this list, rather than get a decent number of items out and then just let it sit as "good enough".
I'm not sure yet if homes will have lawns, but there is a good chance at least some homes will. We can probably work in the street address thing, at least for homes that aren't in the middle of nowhere.
If there are any other questions to have, let me know. _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato

Questions for the home wanting players?
Why do you want homes?
How often would you use them?
What would you do with them, in them? - skip the way to personal stuff.
Just curious, its just that lots of people have them in games and they're just not used (in my opinion which isn't worth much) - I'd like to know why because I'm a home lover!

You know your taking roleplay way to far and your losing it when you return home alone and start....... ok, thats not a question just an amusing thought - well it is to me |

If I do ever get one, I want a little hideout to store all my various weapons and ammo in.

I like looking at my mass of collected weapons/ammo a lot, and seek out quiet rooms to sit undisturbed often, so probably quite a bit.

Before going hunting/taking a job/attacking some place I'd (and a friend or two) go there to stock up on guns/ammo/equipment needed for what I'm doin, can't carry it all with ya.
Just as a side note, I've never had a house in DR, or have had an interest in getting one (besides the Prydaen part of me not needing one), because you can't do anything with them. But in Haelrahv if I can store a lot of stuff in one, I'll do just that, and definitely want one. _________________ Dragoonseal |

I really wouldn't want a home for anything more than storing stuff, myself. |

Let's see...
I'd like to be able to work out of my home.
I'd like to be able to have an alchemical work station to mix all those goodies.
I'd like to be able to have a pantry, and to set a table...and to cook a meal. Kitchen would be a big deal with me.
In DR, (The number of times you're going to be hearing that one phrase, I feel bad for you) food and drink can't be placed on tables or stores in the house. This drives those of us nuts who want our characters to LIVE in their houses. It's hard to hold a party when you have to drop everything on the floor, and then if you walk out of the room for too long...everything goes pfft!
Also in DR, one-room and that's it...so..if you wanted a bedroom, you have to entertain in your bedroom. Which is where being able to have more than one room adds to usage as well.
I'm very glad to hear that you'll be allowing a "limited (but generous)" amount of items. This lets the characters LIVE in their houses. |

-- You'll definitely be able to put stuff in, on, under, and/or behind any furninture that should support that. So tables will allow on, under, behind typically, etc.

-- We're definitely also going to work in multiple room homes, perhaps pretty darn sprawling ones, really. But of course there's a cost (IG) associated with luxury.
-- Things like kitchens, alchemical crucibles, etc seem very likely as options, but again, for significant cost. _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato

I think I speak for a few other magic/psionic people when I say this...I would love to have a place in my house to be able to practice my spells/abilities...including attack ones. Perhaps a target dummy of sorts?
I would also love a lab room for alchemy (and possibly enchanting) work.
Medics might want a place so they can work out of their own house if they want.
Perhaps secret doors and rooms for agents (and anyone else that might want them)
Practice rooms for permormers.
Shops for Artisans.
Studies/offices for the lawyer type people...
I'll stop now before I get too carried away... _________________ Help! Help! I'm being oppressed! |

Yes, please. An option for an exam room, examination tables, cabinets to hold equipment, bandages, IV's, serums..
When my Medic gets high enough, I'd love for her to be able to run a clinic out of her home.
And, like I said before, I'd love for the few from the street to be..
You also see a petite white house with a sign over the door.
<read house>
The sign over the door of the house reads, "Clinic"
This way,..if an Artisan who takes up say...tailoring as an example, they also could have clothing racks in their home to hand things on. They could have them prepriced. Maybe as it expands, they would have to hire NPC's (or PC's) to work in their shop.
Anyways...
You see a light blue stucco cottage with a sign over the door.
<read cottage>
The sign over the door of the cottage reads, "Value & Vanity"
(Can you tell I really want signs? ::ducks:
