Is it possible to have a reduction of the defense penalty caused by stun/knockdown when using shield as compared to evasion or parry? It would be a nice boost to a defense which could use some more distinction from evasion, aside from the different stat checks and loss of off-hand abilities.

This sounds reasonable, good suggestion. I have applied some reductions to shield defense so that blind, stun and prone/sitting/kneeling are not as severe. I also reduced those for parry slightly but not as much as shield. Evasion remains unchanged. _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato

While you're at it, is it possible to have the same reductions apply to encumberance? It makes sense, for the same reasons, but I forgot to mention it in my earlier post.
And since shield is now the win, shieldbash should be shield blockable (this makes even more sense). Nothing like hot shield-on-shield action. _________________ -Downtweak

There is already an encumbrance modifier based on stance, and Evasion is the most hit by it. _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato
