I've always thought they'd try and put that in for Unarmed parrying, with a significant bonus toward it for Guardians of course. And to keep from being abused, they could make it so noone could pick up the weapon (or, hey, anything) while engaged at melee with something/someone else. Of course, that does nothing for some random bystander (read as: accomplice).

Yeah abuse of that could be an issue. It shouldn't be something really easy to get either. And harder to land, or to counter it. Maybe have something trainable in a counter for that. So the person tries to disarm you, but your training would prevent them or wouldn't.
